Abyss and Roode pose off against one another. Roode breaks with a series of rights, but Abyss powers out of the corner with a big clothesline. Abyss motions for an early chokeslam; Roode counters. Abyss regains control, powering Roode down with a sidewalk slam.
Abyss sends Roode over the top rope and into the stairs. He intimidates a small girl in the front row before sending Roode back into the ring and grabbing a chair. He mounts the chair in the corner and as Earl Hebner works to dislodge it, Roode catches him with a schoolboy to earn a very lengthy two-count.
Roode battles out of a chin lock as the five-minute warning flashes on the screen. He takes “The Monster” Abyss to the mat with a huge flying clothesline, followed with a Blockbuster from the top rope. He sends Abyss into the chair wedged in the corner.
Roode motions for a chokeslam of his own, but Abyss counters. Roode counters and offers up the crossface. Abyss forces the break with the ropes and then he counters a Roode Bomb with a chokeslam.
Roode just kicks out before three, which sends Abyss to retrieve Janice from beneath the ring.
Hebner puts distance between himself and Abyss as Janice is driven into the corner padding. Roode catches Abyss with a spinebuster to secure the victory.
